In 2000, we began the coupon magazine "Hot Pepper" with the motto of cheering up the "town" through "food", and sparked an instant free paper sensation across Japan. Today, the style of eating out with "coupons" has become second nature. Services in the mobile and PC versions were launched in 2003 and 2005 respectively, and a smartphone version has also recently been developed. Hot Pepper continues evolving into a service allowing each person to find a restaurant suitable for eating out and allowing all concerned to spend a "pretty good time!"
