We launched AB-Road magazine in 1984 with the editorial policy of allowing readers to compare travel deals, which helped change the Japanese perception of overseas travel from a special once-in-a-lifetime event to a more familiar experience. Similarly, we launched Jalan in 1990 as a medium that allows users to book reservations for trips to every corner of Japan based on the concept of offering suggestions on ways to enjoy time off rather than suggestions on travel. Today, Jalan is one of Japan’s largest booking sites and is shifting its focus to desktop and smartphone platforms. We aim to further develop the tourism industry by creating opportunities for people to explore the world.
